Am avut șansa vieții, oferită de Greti, să fiu în Tenerife între 3 și 10 iulie. Erupția vulcanului din La Palma ne-ar fi putut surprinde acolo. O imagine prin satelit a erupției vulcanice este spectaculoasă, dar nu se vede (în spatele ei) distrugerea unor case, anxietatea unor oameni, îngrijorarea și… Românii au o vorbă: Afară-i vopsit gardul si înăuntru-i leopardul!
MEDIA va promova imaginile spectaculoase ale erupției vulcanice din Insulele Canare, dar cine va putea exprimă teama oamenilor cărora le-au fost distruse casele de lavă. Există și o ”parte pozitivă”: Suprafața insulei La Palma se va extinde, prin răcirea lavei în contact cu apa oceanului…

Suprafața insulei La Palma din Spania continuă să se extindă în timp ce lava din erupția vulcanică curge în oceanul Atlantic și se solidifică atunci când atinge apa, au spus oamenii de știință ai Uniunii Europene.
Copernicus, programul de observare a Pământului al Uniunii Europene, a afirmat joi că imaginile sale din satelit au arătat o limbă în formă de D de stâncă topită care se formează pe malul vestic al insulei care a măsurat 835 de acri până la sfârșitul zilei de miercuri.
