Pe durata a trei zile, 20-22 august 2014, la Biobaza Mangalia au fost sterilizate peste 150 de animale (câini și pisici).
Succesul acțiunii s-a datorat echipei Asociației Romania Animal Rescue, coordonată de dr.Aurelian Ștefan.
Dr. Ștefan: “Dacă fiecare vom face câte puțin, o să vedeți că și la noi lucrurile se vor îndrepta”.
Dr. Stefan: “If everyone will do a little, you’ll see that here too the things will turn to better”.
După absolvirea Facultății de Medicină Veterinară din Bucuresti, în 2004, dr. Aurelian Stefan a petrecut mai multe luni în Colorado/SUA unde, sub îndrumarea Dr. Jeff Young, a dobândit abilitățile necesare pentru efectuarea de campanii de sterilizare la scară largă.

VIDEO – Dr. Aurelian Stefan (en): More than 150 animals were spayed / neutered the past 2 days, mainly dogs, but we also operated cats – around 10-20% of the total no. We are used to this kind of activity, the working style and the fast rhythm, we even tried to schedule all the animals within 2 days period of time so that RAR team could enjoy some relaxing time at the seaside. We were very pleased to see how Mangalia people responded to RAR project and we will probably come back in the near future.
The authorities responded positively to our campaign, RAR being an American based charity working in RO to prevent the situations of dogs’ abandonment and those of strays roaming the streets – so we will try to continue our work here in the future. First, an animal is not an accessory, an animal is a living being that deserves to be treated with respect, we mustn’t treat them superficially, with no consideration or affection.
This compassionate way is part of a life standard we all want for ourselves in RO – “the European Union” sounds fantastic, but there are no strays in the EU, and this should also the case for Romania: no strays roaming the streets.
Having said that, I would recommend to all pet owners to be responsible pet owners, not to let their dogs breed uncontrollably, not to let their dogs on the streets or allowing them to roam unrestrained on the streets most of the time – a dog should be well cared for, dogs should not be chained – if possible, and things will be better. If each and every one of us does his small part, you’ll see that things will improve, things will get better here too.

VIDEO – Dr. Aurelian Stefan (de): Mehr als 150 Tiere wurden in den letzten 2 Tagen kastriert / sterilisiert. Vor allem Hunde, aber auch Katzen ( etwa 10-20% der Gesamtmenge). Unsere Arbeitsweise ist auf diese Art von Aktivität ausgelegt, wir haben auch versucht, alle Eingriffe innerhalb von 2 Tagen Zeit so zu planen, dass unser RAR-Team eine kurze, erholsame Zeit am Meer genießen konnte.
Wir waren sehr erfreut zu sehen, wie positiv die Menschen auf das Mangalia RAR-Projekt reagierten und wir werden wahrscheinlich in der nahen Zukunft wiederkommen. Die Behörden reagierten ebenfalls positiv auf unsere Kampagne. RAR ist eine amerikanische Wohltätigkeitsorganisation in RO, die die Situation der Hunde, der Streuner auf den Straßen verbessern und weitere Vermehrung/Aussetzungen verhindern möchte – und so werden wir versuchen, unsere Arbeit auch hier in der Zukunft fortsetzen.
Streuner sind Tiere, keine “Accessoirs”… sondern Lebewesen, die es verdient, mit Respekt behandelt zu werden. Wir dürfen sie nicht oberflächlich und Rücksicht oder Zuneigung behandeln. Diese mitfühlende Behandlung ist ein Teil des Lebensstandards, den wir alle in RO wollen… auch für uns selbst – “die Europäischen Union” klingt fantastisch, aber es gibt keine Streuner in der EU, und dies sollte auch in Rumänien der Fall sein: keine Streuner auf den Straßen.
Abgesehen davon, möchte ich alle Besitzer von Haustieren darum bitten, verantwortungsvolle Tierbesitzer zu sein, Hunde sollten sich nicht unkontrolliert vermehren und dann durch die Strassen streunen – ein Hund sollte gut gepflegt werden, Hunde sollten, wenn möglich, nicht angekettet werden – nur so werden sich die Dinge zum besseren wenden. Wenn jede und jeder von uns seinen kleinen Teil dazu beiträgt, werden Sie sehen, dass sich die Dinge verbessern, auch hier.

Sterilizarea atator animale a fost posibila datorita donatorilor din toata lumea, donatori care au vazut fotografiile din ecarisajul Mangalia si au donat catre Romania Animal Rescue, R.A.R, tocmai ca sa nu mai fie caini pe strazile Mangaliei, pui aruncati de la curti in oras… Primaria a ajutat cu cazarea echipei, spatiul de sterilizare si flyerele (fluturasii ) pe care le-ati vazut in oras…
Ar trebui sa avem un mini-adapost la Mangalia si doctori veterinari care sa sterilizeze gratuit, permanent… Atunci cand o sa vedem un mini-adapost pus la punct asa cum trebuie, atunci ne vom incadra si noi printre orasele civilizate… Pana atunci, pe bani publici, ai tuturor celor care nu vor caini pe strazi, abandonul va continua… Cei care iubesc, intr-adevar, animalele, nu vor cainii pe strazi ! …Si, in nici un caz, omorati de hingheri! …Eutanasia ca la carte facuta afara, nu se practica in Romania… In Romania, e macel….

The sterilization of so many animals was possible only because of donors worldwide, the donors who saw photos of the Mangalia’s rendering plant and donated to Romania Animal Rescue organization (R.A.R) the money used especially to prevent the existence of stray dogs on Mangalia’s streets, the stray dogs who’re actually thrown out from houses/yards.
The City Hall helped with the team accommodation, with the space used for sterilization and the flyers that you’ve seen in town… We should have a small animal shelter in Mangalia, where the veterinarians to sterilize for free on permanent basis… Only when we’ll have a properly equipped shelter, then and only then we will aligned with civilized cities standards… Until then, with all the public money of all those who do not want dogs on the streets, the abandonment will continue.
The real animal lovers do not want to see stray dogs on the streets! … And in any case they don’t want dogs to end up killed by the dogcatchers.
Unfortunately, the euthanasia made by the book is not practiced in Romania… In Romania is a massacre…

Die Sterilisation von vielen Tieren ist möglich gewesen dank Spenden von der ganzen Welt. Spender, die die Fotos von der Abdeckerei Mangalias gesehen haben, halfen Rumänien Animal Rescue R.A.R. Sie haben gespendet das auf den Straßen von Mangalia keine Hunde mehr rumlaufen, keine Babyhunde von den Menschen auf die Straßen geworfen werden …Das Rathaus hat mit den Übernachtungen vom Team geholfen, dem Arbeitsplatz, so gar mit der Werbung, Flyer die Sie in der Stadt gesehen haben… Wir müssen in Mangalia permanent einen Platzt haben wo die Tierärzte kostenlos sterilisieren können…. Wen wir das alles haben, können wir sagen das wir auch zu den zivilisierte Städten gehören… Bis dahin, wird die Abschaffung der Hunde auf den Straßen weitergehen… Die jenigen, die wirklich Tiere lieben, wollen keine Hunde auf den Straßen!… Und auf keinen Fall von Leuten umgebracht werden… Die richtige Euthanasie gibt es nicht in Romania… bei uns ist Schlachterei…. Mangalia bedankt sich zum Romania Animal Rescue, Inc, zum Nancy Janes, Doktor Aurelia Stefan, Andra Popescu und alle Personen die die Sterilisation möglich gemacht haben!
